Justin Sollitt – Site Manager, Generation Equipment Broker & Valuer
Justin is Genco's lead Site Manager and Equipment Broker & Valuer and is one of the founding Directors.
Justin remains a registered electrician since 1992 and comes from a background of Industrial Electrical contracting and maintenance including CCTV security. Justin has since also trained and established himself as a specialist Plant & Machinery Valuer and Broker. Since 1990 Justin has established several businesses which he is still holds an interest in today, including his involvement in founding of the Genco Group in 2006.
Justin is an experienced Project Manager, Constructor and Estimator. His role within Genco includes overseeing Genco's commercial & administration operations, site mobilisation, site management, estimating and project costings and Quality Assurance. This extends to Power Purchase and Gas Supply agreements on new generation projects as well as shipping and logistics.
Justin also oversees the operations of Gengear Limited www.gengear.co.nz - Genco's equipment sales subsidiary which specialises in global trading of pre-owned power generation plant equipment. Justin carries an affiliation to the New Zealand Institute of Infrastructure, Plant & Machinery Valuers and is a frequently consulted Plant & Machinery Broker & Valuer specialising in Power Generation Assets and Equipment.
Justin is a director of several private New Zealand companies and is also reputed internationally as a Broker & Valuer in the Global Aircraft & Helicopter industries.
Don Sollitt – Senior Project Manager, Project Recovery Specialist
Don is Genco’s senior EPC Project Manager and Project Recovery specialist. He carries both electrical and mechanical qualifications as well as being trained in building, construction and civil works.
Coupled with this Don has also amassed the experience of a business career spanning almost 40 years for which Don is well known in New Zealand business circles. This involves the growth and governance of both private and publicly listed NZX / ASX listed companies (both as MD and Chairman) in the electrical manufacturing, technology and power generation industries. Don carries a proven record in international trade and development APEC and CER and is also highly experienced in business recovery and turnarounds in both private and public companies.
Don also has extensive experience in Government and SOE’s governance having served on the boards of many NZ State Owned Enterprises including power utility Orion Group (formally Southpower), and has been seconded from the private sector to head NZ State Owned Enterprise development (CRI & SOE’s).
In 1998 he was selected for the NZ Government Ministerial inquiry panel into the Auckland power failure crisis.
As a result of this extensive and sometimes hard won experience Dons expertise in business turnarounds and recovery and ability to successfully recover projects in cost / schedule difficulty is demanded internationally.
Don also carries extensive experience with both reciprocating and gas turbine power generation plant.
